Scope of Work: New Conveyor Line Project

1. Project Overview

The New Conveyor Line Project undertaken by Skargi Africa Engineering & Construction Ltd. aims to design, fabricate, install, and commission a modern conveyor system to enhance material handling efficiency, reduce operational downtime, and support continuous production flow within the plant. The project focuses on achieving higher throughput capacity, improved safety, and reduced maintenance requirements through advanced engineering and automation.

2. Objectives

• To design and construct a reliable, energy-efficient conveyor line tailored to site-specific operational needs.

• To improve material transportation speed, accuracy, and flow control.

• To minimize manual handling and optimize production safety.

• To integrate modern control systems and monitoring technologies for improved process efficiency.

• To ensure compliance with international engineering and safety standards.

3. Scope of Work

a. Design and Engineering

• Conduct detailed engineering design and layout planning for the new conveyor line.

• Perform load calculations, power requirements, and capacity assessments.

• Select conveyor types, materials, and components suitable for the plant’s operational environment.

• Prepare fabrication drawings and installation schematics.

b. Fabrication and Supply

• Fabricate conveyor structures, frames, chutes, and support systems according to specifications.

• Procure mechanical, electrical, and control components (motors, rollers, belts, pulleys, sensors, and drives).

• Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) before delivery to site.

c. Installation and Commissioning

• Perform site preparation, equipment alignment, and foundation works.

• Install conveyor assemblies, electrical panels, control systems, and safety guards.

• Integrate the conveyor with existing plant equipment and systems.

• Carry out testing, calibration, and commissioning to ensure optimal operation.

• Conduct performance trials and verify design efficiency.

d. Safety and Quality Assurance

• Implement safety procedures in compliance with Skargi Africa’s HSE standards.

• Carry out quality inspections and documentation at each project phase.

• Provide training for operators and maintenance personnel.

e. Maintenance and Support

• Develop preventive maintenance plans for the conveyor line.

• Provide technical documentation, as-built drawings, and operation manuals.

• Offer post-installation support and periodic performance evaluations.
